Twelve charming pop songs in thirty-three happy minutes. Great Lakes is James Dorman Huggins III, Daniel Patrick Donahue & Benjamin William Crum with help from Elephant six pals Scott Spillane, Robert Schneider and Kevin Barnes doing that whole 60s - 70s pop thing that we all adore so much. This self-titled album is beautifully arranged, with little symphonic pop explosions interlacing through my imaginary journey of lush green valleys and bright coloured patchwork skies. Birthday parties of xylophones, clarinets, and trombones... a myriad of sounds to make each tiny tune feel like a present. And its not even my birthday!
