Analogue Orchestra | Back To Stereo EP (Libanonstop)
Coming across like a lunch-time jam-session between members of Air and Belle And Sebastian, this is summery breeze-pop intended for the masses - and although the masses probably won't listen, this doesn't mean that you shouldn't. A carefree slide guitar sitting on top of tender keyboard musings leads us into the title track, while the duo harmonises in and around the sweeping textures: "Blue skies from now on." And although 'adorable' may not be this month's word, it is pretty hard to avoid using it here. A fine summer evening captured on tape. The real treat, however, is Wednesday Morning, a cry for help disguised as a swooning, quietly crooning piece of electro-pop balladry, questioning an intimate relationship and the people that exists within its confines. Painfully honest contemplation on questions we have all dwelled on from time to time.
